How a Hot Water Pressure Washer Helps Reduce Germs

Using a hot water pressure washer is one of the most effective ways to reduce germs. They expel a highly pressurized stream of water out of a nozzle, and can often be used with strong cleaning detergents that can remove both dirt and germs. Not only can you make a dirty surface look new again, but you can reduce the number of germs on the surface as well. To keep a variety of surfaces truly clean, read these tips on how to use and find the best gas pressure washer.

What is a Gas Powered Pressure Washer?

These types of pressure washers allow customers to use a hot water pressure washer without relying on an electrical power source. This is excellent for remote job sites, or at job sites where you may not have easy access to an electrical power source. As long as you have fuel and a supply of water, your commercial gas pressure washer is ready to go.

How Do I Safely Use a Commercial Gas Pressure Washer?

When using a gas powered pressure washer (or really, any pressure washer), you want to make sure you use the right amount of pressure. Using too much pressure can result in you damaging the surface that you’re cleaning. Too little pressure and you won’t clean anything at all. You want to use just enough pressure to clean dirt, oil, or grease off a surface, without taking off a surface’s finish. To test the amount of pressure you may need, test the washer on a small, discreet area. A good pressure washer will have plenty of pressure settings for you to choose from.

You’ll also want to use the correct temperature when using a gas powered pressure washer as well. While the temperature of the water should be hot enough to kill off germs and bacteria, a temperature that’s too high can also damage the surface you’re cleaning. You want to aim for the highest temperature you can set your commercial gas pressure washer to that will kill bacteria, without damaging the surface you’re using it on. For most surfaces, this is somewhere between 185F and 212F. The best gas pressure washer should allow you to finely tune the temperature of the water, ensuring that you won’t damage the surface you’re cleaning.

Applications of Gas Pressure Washer

With a variety of attachments and settings to choose from, a gas powered pressure washer is a versatile tool that works in many different industries, for more tasks than you may realize. We have the right power washers to handle any job. Here’s how you can use them.

  • Cleaning Building Exteriors

The most common use for a power washer is cleaning the exteriors of buildings. Using a power washer saves time and makes cleaning dirt, debris, and stains off of building exteriors quick and efficient. An industrial power washer is a smart choice for commercial buildings, and works on many different surfaces including brick, siding, and concrete. You can also use the washer on residential buildings, as a service of a house cleaning or painting business.

  • Cleaning Machinery

Those in the manufacturing industry can use an electric powered pressure washer to keep warehouses and factories clean and safe. With the right attachments, the tools are ideal for cleaning machinery. The pressure is enough to get built up grease off of parts, but the right attachment is gentle enough to keep parts in place and intact. Keep floors and outdoor spaces clean can help to prevent injuries as well.

  • Washing Cars

Vehicles see a lot of action day to day, and power washers can help keep them looking brand new. Start with spraying the vehicle down with water only to clean off loose debris, then do a second round with detergent added. Power washers work with both cars, trucks, and SUVS, along with commercial vehicles, helping to decrease the effects of weather and regular driving. Click here for more details.
